Ohio State University Division of Human Genetics seeks a Genetic Counselor for a clinician educator position to co‑direct our Genetic Counseling Graduate Program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain program compliance with Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC) standards.
  • Develop, review, and modify the program’s strategic plan, including mission, vision, goals, and philosophy.
  • Oversee admissions processes and admission criteria.
  • Ensure long‑term fiscal stability and year‑round program administration.
  • Collaborate with division director and College of Medicine leadership on communication with students and faculty.
  • Participate in clinical genetic services within the hospital and clinic settings.
  • Teach graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows in genetic counseling.
  • Engage in translational genetics research and related scholarly activities.

Qualifications – Required

  • Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling.
  • Current professional board certification in genetic counseling.
  • Minimum of five years experience in genetic counseling.
  • In‑depth knowledge and experience of the genetic counseling profession and practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience relevant to program oversight.
  • Experience as a course instructor or instructor of record for at least two post‑secondary courses.
  • Completed at least 10 hours of training or coursework in curriculum design, assessment, evaluation, educational andragogy, or principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within the last ten years.
  • Continuing training of at least two hours per year in curriculum design, assessment, evaluation, or educational andragogy, including at least one hour related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

Qualifications – Desired

  • Three to five years experience in a leadership role.
  • Completion of a professional program in leadership.
