Generator MechanicThe Generator Mechanic performs repairs, diagnostics and preventative maintenance on generators and small equipment and completes scheduled and unscheduled repairs based on work orders in the repair tracking system.Core ResponsibilitiesWear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Perform repairs, diagnostics and preventative maintenance on generators and small equipment.Perform basic intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs and replacements following company guidelines on small company equipment.Create and process work orders.Document repair operations and time-tracking in accordance with company procedures.Assist co-workers with diagnostics and repairs.Requisition parts through the Purchasing Department.Conduct technical inspections and documenting findings.Maintain repair order documentation to include repair description, parts used and repair times.Perform monthly inventories as required.Ensure work area is clean and neat.Comply with company safety policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.Immediately report any safety violations and correcting unsafe acts or conditions.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills & QualificationsAt least one year of experience with mechanical repair, e.g., automotive, power equipment, refrigeration, small engineDemonstrated mechanical repair skillsTime management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishMust possess own toolsPreferred Skills & QualificationsAutomotive Service Excellence (ASE)At least one year of experience using the Microsoft Office suite of products – i.e., Word, Excel, OutlookCollege or technical school-level coursework in automotive maintenanceVocational certificate or Associate's degree in generator technologyRequired Licenses & CertificationsValid Class C driver's licenseSafe driving for the last three years
