Base pay range: $105,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

What You'll Do
The People Operations Generalist (Associate Director) plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth, inclusive, and people-centered employee experience at Third Plateau. This role is responsible for executing day-to-day HR operations, supporting employee relations, and partnering with managers and staff to foster a positive workplace culture. The Generalist will serve as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors while ensuring compliance with firm policies and employment laws.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Oversee and process semi-monthly payroll, including onboarding, terminations, leave management, deduction changes, and generating reports
- Troubleshoot payroll issues and ensure systems integrate effectively with finance and other providers
- Partner with the payroll provider to manage payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Benefits Management: Administer employee benefits including open enrollment, invoicing, and ad-hoc changes; analyze employee surveys and support benefit design discussions with leadership; coordinate open enrollment logistics and enrollment troubleshooting
- 401(k) Administration: Process semi-monthly 401(k) contributions and maintain data accuracy with Fidelity
- Employee Lifecycle & Performance Management
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage end-to-end onboarding logistics, benefits enrollment, background checks, and 401(k) setup; develop personalized onboarding plans with hiring managers
- Performance Management: Lead the annual review process using Lattice, train staff on tools, and assist leadership with calibration during reviews
- HR Operations & Employee Engagement
- Operational Support: Provide day-to-day HR support, maintain systems, answer employee questions, and manage timekeeping and expenses
- Audit and update SOPs to align with compliance requirements
- Cultural Stewardship & Employee Relations: Engage in team-building, development, and culture initiatives; address employee concerns and coach managers
- Recruitment & Talent Development
- Recruitment: Manage full-cycle recruitment with hiring managers; facilitate debriefs and candidate selection
- Talent Development: Maintain job descriptions and skills frameworks; support development programs
- HRIS & Data Management
- HRIS Management: Oversee Paylocity, Lattice, Lever, Ethena; ensure data integrity and automate where possible
- Reporting & Data Analysis: Generate payroll, benefits, and performance reports; build dashboards for workforce insights
- Policy & Compliance Oversight
- Leave Management: Administer FMLA, ADA, parental and medical leave; guide employees and managers on processes
- Policy Creation & Updates: Draft policies and maintain the employee handbook
- Compliance & Reporting: Manage filings and audits with regulatory bodies and ensure adherence to employment laws
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of professional experience in Human Resources
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines calmly
- Proficiency with technology and a track record of improving processes and systems for scalability
- Comfort with HR platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Lattice, Tilt, Ethena)
- Excellent listening, writing, and oral communication skills
