General Surgery Program Director

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel seeks an experienced Program Director to develop our new General Surgery Graduate Medical Education program starting in July 2028. The program will welcome 3 residents per program year and focuses on collaboration, quality of care, and whole-person care. This opportunity allows you to practice in a friendly central Florida community with no state income tax and proximity to major cities, theme parks, and the Gulf Coast.

• 193-bed hospital in central Florida
• General Surgery Graduate Medical Education program starting in July 2028 with 3 residents per program year

Responsibilities

• Accreditation and institutional governance participation
• Develop curriculum and evaluation system
• Ensure positive and safe learning environment
• Faculty oversight
• Supervise residents and fellows
• Program management

Qualifications

• Be duly licensed to practice medicine in Florida
• Demonstrate ongoing clinical and scholarly activity
• Be eligible to participate as a provider in the Medicare and Medicaid programs
• Be an active member in good standing of the AdventHealth Medical Staff
• Hold current certification in relevant specialty by ABMS or AOA
• Have at least three (3) years of relevant, specialty specific, documented educational and/or administrative experience
• Ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine, strong communication skills, and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth
