Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon to join a well-established practice at Marshfield Medical Center - Minocqua in Minocqua, Wisconsin. This role involves providing consultation and surgery for medical conditions affecting various body systems, including the breast, gastrointestinal tract, and hernias, along with screening and diagnostic endoscopy. Responsibilities

  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care.
  • Perform surgical procedures for adolescents and adults to correct or treat various conditions, illnesses, and injuries of the alimentary tract, abdomen and its contents, breast, skin, soft tissue, head and neck, endocrine system, and minor extremity surgery.
  • Provide for the on-call emergent/urgent needs of the pediatric and pre-adolescent surgical patient within the core privilege definition.

  • Call is 1:3.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated surgical residency program or a clinical fellowship of at least five years' duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
  • H-1B and J-1 visa sponsorship available.
  • Experience can be demonstrated by providing residency or fellowship log (for recent graduates).
  • For applicants not directly out of residency, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) with current privileges showing clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures, morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of General Surgery and case volumes showing performance of at least 100 procedures in the past 12 months.
