Sanford Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified General Surgeon to join its established group of providers at Sanford Clinic Worthington. This role involves providing comprehensive General Surgery services to communities in Southwestern Minnesota, working collaboratively with other surgeons. The position offers an opportunity to practice in a Level IV trauma center within a large, integrated health system.
Practice Info
- Work in conjunction with other Sanford Clinic surgeons to provide General Surgery services to Southwestern Minnesota communities
- Call is shared with 3 General Surgeons
- Medical, Surgical and ICU units attended by dedicated hospitalist
- Regional obstetrics/gynecology location
- Level IV trauma center
Responsibilities
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care for adolescents and adults
- Perform surgical procedures to correct or treat various conditions, illnesses, and injuries of the alimentary tract, abdomen and its contents, breast, skin, soft tissue, head and neck, endocrine system, and minor extremity surgery
- Provide for the on-call emergent/urgent needs of the pediatric and pre-adolescent surgical patient within the core privilege definition

Requirements
- BE/BC General Surgeon
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated surgical residency program or a clinical fellowship of at least five years' duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
