General Surgeon

This hospital is seeking a locum tenens General Surgery physician in Kentucky to provide on-site inpatient call coverage. Clinicians will work one week per month, handling general surgery procedures, daily inpatient rounding, and continuous availability for emergent needs. The role features a variable caseload focusing on adult patients in a supportive hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour general surgery call coverage on an on-site inpatient basis
• Perform general surgery procedures
• Conduct approximately 2 hours of daily rounding on inpatient cases
• Maintain continuous availability for both scheduled and emergent surgical needs throughout each assigned call period

Shift & Schedule

• 1 week a month
• 24-hour call

Qualifications

• Board certification in General Surgery is required for this assignment
