CHRISTUS Spohn Health System is seeking an experienced, community-invested General Surgeon (BC/BE) to join a thriving practice in Kingsville, Texas. This full-time position offers professional autonomy and a broad scope clinical workload, supported by an established referral base and collaborative call rotation. - The practice is located in Kingsville, Texas.
- The hospital features 3 Operating Rooms (non-hybrid) and a dedicated clinic building conveniently located on the hospital campus.
- FY25 projections include over 600 surgeries, 21,500 ED visits, and 1,700 discharges.
- Operates as a "stabilize and transfer" center for major trauma, with acute care cases managed by on-site Hospitalists.
- Surgeons are supported by Hospitalists, Tele-Pulmonology, and Tele-Critical Care.
- The hospital is home to the area's only inpatient dialysis program.
Responsibilities
- Manage a "broad scope" clinical workload, including gallbladders, hernias, EGDs, colonoscopies, and PEGS.
- Provide general consults for maternal health cases.
- Work with students and residents through the university connection.
Compensation
- Collaborative call rotation (expected 1:3, with potential for 1:2 for additional pay).

- Typically 3 days of clinic and 2 days of blocked OR time

Requirements
- MD or DO with ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency
- American Board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery
- At least 5 years of experience is required
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Texas
- Residency within a 20–30 minute radius is required to support the hospital’s Level IV Trauma needs.
