Overview

The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville is seeking a general surgeon at the clinical assistant, associate, or professor level to develop a comprehensive hernia and elective general surgery program, provide education to medical students and residents, and contribute to a growing GI/MIS, robotic, and oncology program.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a high level of quality patient care services in all aspects of General Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
• Provide clinical teaching to trainees in General Surgery and actively participate in the educational program.
• Be responsible for excellent communication with primary care physicians, consulting services and other referring providers.
• Assist in marketing the General Surgery Program to community physicians and managed care organizations.
• Participate in monthly division and department meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.
• No trauma calls required.

Qualifications

Required: MD or DO, Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery, and experience in evaluation and treatment including minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic approaches.

Preferred: Fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery/Advanced GI Surgery.
