Jackson & Coker is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in California, starting October 8, 2026. This role involves 24-hour call coverage in a hospital-based General and Trauma Surgery setting. The ideal candidate will provide essential coverage, including endoscopy procedures, within a Level III Trauma facility.
Practice Info
- Hospital-based General and Trauma Surgery setting
- Level III Trauma facility
- Single ED call schedule
- Endoscopy volume varies and may be fewer than two scopes per week
- Support available from employed General Surgeons and an in-house ED Physician
- Approximately 800 trauma cases per year, primarily including motor vehicle accidents, stabbings, shootings, ATV incidents, motorcycle accidents, swimming injuries, and horse-related injuries
- EMR: Cerner

- Provide 24-hour call coverage
- Perform 100% ED call coverage
- Perform Endoscopy procedures

Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (must be within 3-5 years of residency completion)
- California medical license
- CA DEA + ATLS
- ACLS
- BLS
- Clean malpractice history with no paid claims
- Must be actively practicing with full privileges and cannot have been away from surgical practice for a year
