Job Details
The General Superintendent provides overall field leadership for multiple electrical construction projects and serves as the senior operational leader responsible for project execution, workforce management, safety, quality, scheduling, and client satisfaction.
This individual partners closely with project management, field supervision, and executive leadership to ensure successful project delivery while mentoring the next generation of field leaders. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with extensive experience managing large‑scale commercial or industrial electrical construction projects and developing high-performing teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for multiple electrical construction projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel.
- Drive a culture centered on safety, accountability, quality, and operational excellence.
- Coordinate manpower planning and workforce allocation across projects.
- Monitor project schedules, productivity, labor performance, and field operations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, contract requirements, and all applicable codes and regulations.
- Participate in project planning, constructability reviews, logistics planning, and execution strategies.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives throughout field operations.
- Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and development of field talent.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of electrical construction leadership experience.
- Previous experience as a General Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or equivalent leadership role.
- Extensive experience leading large commercial, industrial, mission-critical, manufacturing, healthcare, data center, or other complex electrical construction projects.
- Proven ability to lead multiple project teams simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, manpower planning, productivity, budgeting, and project execution.
- Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, field teams, and executive leadership.
- Experience developing and mentoring future field leaders is highly preferred.
