Renowned for delivering complex infrastructure and site development projects, they continue to expand throughout Florida with a strong pipeline of public and private sector work.
As part of this growth, they are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to provide operational leadership across Central Florida and the East Coast region , overseeing multiple large-scale earthwork, site development, and underground utility projects.
Projects typically range from $20M–$50M , with flagship projects reaching $100M–$150M .
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Director, the General Superintendent will be responsible for leading field operations across multiple concurrent projects. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving safety, production, quality, and operational excellence while mentoring and developing project Superintendents and field teams.
The successful candidate will be a respected field leader with extensive experience managing self-perform civil construction operations including mass grading, excavation, underground wet utilities, stormwater systems, roadwork, and large-scale site development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for multiple active civil construction projects across Central Florida and Florida's East Coast.
- Direct and mentor Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Drive production planning, manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and sequencing across multiple jobsites.
- Partner closely with Project Managers and Operations leadership to develop execution strategies and resolve field challenges.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and logistics plans to ensure successful project execution.
- Monitor productivity, cost performance, and resource allocation while identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
- Lead project start-ups, scheduling meetings, progress reviews, and field coordination meetings.
- Foster strong relationships with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and municipal agencies.
- Champion the company's safety culture through proactive planning, coaching, and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety standards.
- Mentor and develop the next generation of field leadership through coaching and succession planning.
- Support recruitment, performance management, and career development of field personnel.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience with a strong background in earthwork, site development, and underground utilities. Senior multi-project leadership experience is typically expected for this level.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Mass earthwork and grading
- Roadway and civil infrastructure
- Experience delivering projects valued between $20M–$50M+ , with exposure to major projects exceeding $100M preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong understanding of production management, scheduling, equipment utilization, and field operations.
- Ability to build high-performing teams and develop Superintendents into future leaders.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel throughout Central Florida and the East Coast region as required.
