My client is a well-established civil construction contractor operating throughout New York and they are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee field operations across multiple projects.
They are looking for a hands-on construction leader with a strong heavy civil background who can manage superintendents and field crews, drive schedules, and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day field operations for multiple civil construction projects
- Manage and support project superintendents, foremen, and field staff
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget
- Enforce safety policies and maintain a strong safety culture across all sites
- Coordinate with project management teams on scheduling, manpower, and logistics
- Monitor quality control and ensure work complies with contract documents and specifications
- Interface with clients, inspectors, and subcontractors in the field
- Assist with project planning, sequencing, and constructability reviews
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in civil construction with heavy civil exposure
- Proven experience as a General Superintendent or Senior Superintendent
- Strong background in roadway, infrastructure, utilities, bridges, or similar civil work
- Ability to manage multiple crews and projects simultaneously
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- OSHA certification preferred
