Position Overview

PetVet Care Centers is seeking a compassionate and skilled General Practice Veterinarian to join our team at Ace Animal Hospital in Fremont, California. The ideal candidate will provide high‑quality veterinary care and communicate effectively with clients, working alongside veterinarians, technicians, and support staff under the guidance of the Hospital Manager and Regional Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
  • Communicate and educate clients about their pets’ health
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgery
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Prescribe medications and follow controlled‑substance protocols
  • Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
  • Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge
  • Attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards are upheld
  • Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications (Required)

  • Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
  • Current State Veterinary License
  • DEA registration maintained
  • 1+ years of veterinary practice experience
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Excellent surgical and dental skills
  • Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care
  • Ability to communicate effectively with medical staff and clients
  • Client communication skills, ability to elicit information, establish rapport, and offer explanations
  • Confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed, ill, or painful pets
  • Physical ability: may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; moderate physical demands; able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Clinical proficiency in cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, and other examinations; diagnose and prescribe appropriate treatments

Pay Range

$200,000 — $225,000 USD
