Sanford Health is seeking a general or fellowship-trained Neurologist to join its active and well-developed neurology group. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside 14 experienced Neurologists and 6 Advanced Practice Providers, focusing on general neurology and various subspecialties. The position also includes opportunities to train future neurologists in the residency program and serve as clinical faculty for the USD Sanford School of Medicine.

Practice Info

  • Sanford Clinic Neurology group has 14 experienced Neurologists and 6 Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Focus on general neurology as well as various specialty interests including neuromuscular disease, epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, headache, stroke, and sleep.
  • Inpatient Neurology consists of 2 vascular neurologists, 3 vascular/interventional neurologists, 5 neurosurgeons, and 4 Neurocritical Care physicians.
  • Inpatient team provides hospital coverage as well as ED and tele-stroke coverage.
  • Opportunities to help train the next generation of Neurologists in the Neurology Residency that began in 2023.
  • Serve as clinical faculty for the USD Sanford School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Provide consultative services.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
  • H-1B and J-1 visa sponsorship available.
  • For applicants just completed residency: provide residency logs and a list of completed rotations.
  • For applicants not applying directly out of residency: provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, to include number of procedures performed-morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications.
  • For applicants not applying directly out of residency: demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months.
  • If a quality profile is not available: documentation of clinic activity for the last 12 months is required, demonstrating active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
