General Neurologist

In cooperation with other members of the department clinical staff, an Ochsner Staff Physician will provide and coordinate patient care by abiding by Ochsner's core values. Practice Info

• Light Work involving exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly
• Requires walking or standing to a significant degree
• Involves traveling throughout and between facilities
• Involves the handling of hazardous drugs and/or hazardous drug contaminated products

Responsibilities

• Examine the health of a patient to help make proper diagnosis of clinical conditions and prescribing medication, treatments, and follow-up care as required
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions
• Provide care directly and indirectly by working with other members of an interdisciplinary team to formulate treatment plans
• Timely record patient encounters in Electronic Health Record
• Request further medical evaluations and make referrals, as necessary
• Commit to collaboration with all members of the department to provide quality patient care
• Ensure accurate coding of all patient visits
• Comply with policies, procedures, bylaws, processes of privileging/credentialing, and standards of care

Qualifications

• Required: Board certified or eligible for certification in physician's primary specialty
• Required: Licensed Practicing Provider MD/DO
• Required: Credentialed and willing to maintain clinical practice
• Understand and commit to the highest standards of professionalism; willingness to hold others to those standards
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
• Individuals who reside in and will work from the following areas are not eligible for remote work position: Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.
