Reports To: Franchise Owner/Area Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused General Manager to lead our Dairy Queen team in White Oak, PA. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all restaurant operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and staff performance. This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and a passion for creating a positive dining experience in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficiency and profitability
- Recruit, train, schedule, and manage team members
- Foster a positive team culture focused on delivering excellent customer service
- Monitor food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation procedures to meet DQ and local health standards
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food and labor costs
- Oversee cash handling, deposits, and ensure proper POS procedures are followed
- Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to improve sales and profitability
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with Dairy Queen brand standards and policies
- Maintain equipment and facility upkeep to ensure a safe and functional environment
- Coordinate with franchise ownership and area supervisors on operational goals and performance
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of management experience in the restaurant or QSR (quick service restaurant) industry (Dairy Queen or similar brand preferred)
- Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Knowledge of labor laws, food safety regulations, and restaurant financials
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business or hospitality is a plus
- ServSafe certification
