The General Manager leads plant production and operations, overseeing precision sheet metal fabrication, heavy machining, painting/coating, and custom contract manufacturing. The role drives throughput growth, P&L optimization, safety compliance, and product quality to meet schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day manufacturing activities, shop floor throughput, and workforce capacity across all shifts.
- Own the plant budget, manage operational expenditures, and report performance metrics to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with production planners and inventory coordinators to optimize raw material levels and reduce WIP bottlenecks.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet internal standards and ISO-equivalent client requirements for sheet metal fabrication, welding, and precision assembly.
- Oversee vendor relations, logistics routing, and component staging to minimize supply chain delays and stockouts.
- Champion workplace safety, enforce OSHA regulations, conduct equipment inspections, and provide tactical skills training.
Qualifications
