General Manager For Residential And Multifamily DivisionWe are representing a reputable mechanical/fire protection contractor seeking an experienced General Manager to lead their residential and multifamily division. This role requires strong trade knowledge in fire protection systems and hands-on leadership across all phases of operations—including estimating, bidding, design, installation, materials, and field coordination. The ideal candidate is a strategic, relationship-driven leader with a background in construction management and deep understanding of wet sprinkler installation, testing, and fire protection operations.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the full operational cycle of the division, including estimating, design, procurement, installation, and field executionLead sales and production meetings, set performance goals, and align team operations with company objectivesManage division budgets, staffing, and forecasting while maintaining profitability and efficiencyDevelop and maintain strong relationships with builders, vendors, and clients to support ongoing and future projectsMentor and motivate team members to ensure high performance and accountabilityCollaborate with senior leadership on business strategy, growth initiatives, and division expansionMonitor field operations to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherenceRepresent the division in executive, client, and industry meetingsDrive continuous improvement across estimating accuracy, field productivity, and client satisfactionQualifications:Minimum 8+ years of experience in fire protection, mechanical, or related construction fieldProven leadership experience managing a division, large department, or operations teamStrong understanding of fire protection systems, wet sprinkler installation, testing, and inspection processesExperience in project management, estimating, and construction schedulingSolid relationships within the residential and multifamily builder market preferredComputer proficient; familiarity with Viewpoint or similar software a plusExcellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment with no hybrid or remote workCompensation + Benefits:Company vehicle, fuel card, and performance-based bonusesESOP participationComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planPaid time off and company holidaysStrong promote-from-within culture and long-term career stability
