Operations ManagerSince 1974, Shermco has become North America's largest and fastest growing NETA-accredited electrical testing organization. Our focus is to make sure electrical power systems are functioning properly and safely. Additionally, our Professional Engineering Group, Rotating Machinery Division, Renewable Energy Services, and Field Repair and local Repair Service Centers, places Shermco in a position to handle all things electrical, all done with an emphasis on safety and client service.The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company.
This includes managing staff, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly, and identifying areas for improvement. The Operations Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure that the company is meeting its goals and objectives.This is a $30+M branch with 50 employees that performs NETA testing, repair and maintenance and breaker ship repair.ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluationsDevelop and implement operational policies and proceduresEnsure that all processes are running smoothly and efficientlyIdentify areas for improvement and implement new strategies to increase productivityMonitor and analyze key performance indicators to measure success and identify areas for improvementCollaborate with other departments to ensure that all goals are aligned and metEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and lawsQualificationsAn education at the bachelor's level in engineering or business management is highly preferred. Specific industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.5+ years of experience in operations/general management with full P&L responsibility of $5-10M + and at least 8-10+ employees, ideally in an engineering services or field services environment in manufacturing, MEP, Electrical, Mechanical, or IndustrialExperience working with customers and building relationshipsStrong leadership and management skills with experience growing a businessSelf-starterStrong safely culture leadership experienceA strong desire to "win"/competitive nature with a strong drive, energy, and motivationAn interest and ability in being a hands-on leaderStrong change management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze data and make informed decisionsKnowledge of relevant regulations and lawsAbility to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesShermco is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
