The GM of Retail is an operational leader who not only sets strategy and analyzes financials but also leads through example and stays close to the products and team through consistent presence on the floor.Reports to the Director of Store Operations. Manages the Fresh Market Manager and Dry Market Manager.Directs and organizes the store's retail operations, including Fresh Retail, Dry Retail, and Front End Operations, to maximize profitabilityOversees Front End operations, including the Cash Office and overall cash management for the building, ensuring proper cash handling, controls and accountabilityDevelops departmental goals and leads a team of managersWorks closely with each manager to understand operational needs and boost interdepartmental collaborationAnalyzes financial data and develops strategies around pricing, merchandising and promotionsManages merchandise and creates product lists, identifying roll-outs and phase-outs of productsPrepares weekly updates on the retail department for senior leadershipAssists with employee hiring, assignment, training, payroll, scheduling, evaluations and terminationsDocuments, investigates and resolves employee and guest incidentsPerforms other duties as required or assignedQualifications6+ years of retail or grocery management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExceptional leadership, motivational and team-building skillsDemonstrated problem-solving, organizational, analytical and business management skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience with Italian products and wineBachelor's Degree is considered an asset Job Requirements Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidaysAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squattingAbility to operate equipment such as a slicer, pasta machine or cash register as neededAvailability to travel up to 10% of the time Compensation The compensation range for this role is USD $80,000-$90,000 annuallyThis position has been posted to fill a current vacancyAdditional Information Benefits and Perks Medical, Dental, Vision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid Parental Leave401K with matchBonus programFree family meal dailyDiscounts at EatalyClasses on products and Italian cuisineReferral bonus programand more!Eataly is an equal employment opportunity employer.
