The Role of Precision Manufacturing - General Manager / Plant Manager

The General Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, operational performance and strategic direction of a specialist manufacturing facility.

This position requires a commercially aware, hands‑on leader with a strong understanding of sealing technologies, manufacturing processes and quality requirements within regulated industries.

The successful candidate will oversee operations, engineering, quality, supply chain and sales, ensuring the facility continues to meet its operational and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities of Precision Manufacturing - General Manager / Plant Manager

• Lead and manage all aspects of a specialist manufacturing facility, overseeing production, engineering, quality, supply chain and commercial activities.
• Provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team of manufacturing and technical professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, productivity, quality and profitability.
• Ensure manufacturing processes meet stringent industry regulations, quality standards and customer requirements.
• Oversee production planning, resource allocation and operational performance.
• Work closely with engineering and quality teams to maintain product integrity and manufacturing excellence.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with wider business objectives.
• Monitor financial performance, budgets, operational KPIs and cost improvement opportunities.
• Support customer relationships, commercial activities and long-term business development.
• Build and develop a high-performing team, promoting accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements of Precision Manufacturing - General Manager / Plant Manager

• Proven leadership experience as a General Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Director, Manufacturing Director or similar.
• Strong experience within the industrial sealing, engineered seals or specialist sealing components manufacturing industry .
• Experience managing manufacturing operations and teams of at least 30 employees.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, engineering, quality management and supply chain functions.
• Experience operating within highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance, manage budgets and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial awareness, leadership and communication skills.
• Must meet US person eligibility requirements under ITAR regulations.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Northern New Jersey.
• Experience manufacturing sealing solutions for medical devices, aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of elastomeric seals, precision‑engineered sealing components or related specialist technologies.
• Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and operational transformation.
• Experience managing both technical and commercial functions within a manufacturing business.

Salary & Benefits

• Base Salary: $195,000–$225,000 depending on experience.
