This is not a position for someone who wants to manage from the office. We’re looking for an experienced restaurant operator who is comfortable on the floor, knows how to lead a team, understands the numbers, and takes ownership of the business.
The right GM knows how to balance great hospitality with strong operations . You should be able to walk into a busy service, immediately see what needs attention, coach the team in real time, and keep the restaurant running at a high level without losing sight of the guest experience.
What You’ll OwnDay-to-day operation of the restaurant
Recruiting, training, developing, and retaining a strong FOH team
Leading managers and creating clear accountability
Service standards and the overall guest experience
Labor scheduling and labor-cost management
Sales, costs, productivity, and operating performance
Staff communication, pre-shifts, and ongoing training
Working closely with the Chef and ownership team
Maintaining restaurant standards for cleanliness, organization, safety, and appearance
Resolving guest and employee issues quickly and professionally
You’re someone who:
Has 3+ years of successful GM or senior restaurant management experience
Has managed a busy, full-service restaurant in NYC or a comparable market
Is a visible, hands-on leader during service
Can hold people accountable without losing the team
Understands scheduling, labor, COGS, P&L performance, and restaurant financials
Knows how to hire and develop good people
Is organized and follows through
Has high standards and notices the details
Understands that hospitality applies to both guests and employees
Can make decisions and take ownership without waiting to be told what to do
We are an established independent NYC restaurant group with experienced ownership and a strong support structure. Our restaurants are busy, energetic, hospitality-driven operations, and we believe the General Manager should truly have ownership of their restaurant.
We provide the systems and support. We are looking for someone who can lead the team, drive the business, and make the restaurant better.
