Position Overview
The General Manager reports to the District Sales Manager and leads a team to deliver exceptional customer experience and achieve business objectives. The role focuses on sales excellence, operational efficiency, and leadership development.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff, including Assistant General Managers and Fitness Consultants.
- Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to staff, ensuring clarity of roles.
- Set and achieve membership and revenue goals, track KPIs, and craft strategies to increase retention and new sign‑ups.
- Provide constructive performance feedback to staff.
- Ensure high‑quality customer service by addressing member concerns, managing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.
- Engage members with a friendly, approachable attitude and active listening.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, certifications, and safety protocols.
- Supervise facility maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Communicate calmly and clearly during emergencies or disruptions to ensure staff and member safety.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales management experience.
- 3‑4 years of customer service experience.
- Strong interest or experience in the fitness industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills at all levels.
- Detail orientation, systematic problem‑solving, and strong time‑management and organizational skills.

Requirements
- Must pass a background check.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to work in a gym setting and move throughout club floors.
- Proficiency in using the company computer system for documentation, data entry, and report review.
- Physical ability to bend routinely and lift more than 40 lbs.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 USD per year.
