General Manager – Panera CAFE

We are looking for a dedicated General Manager to lead a popular neighborhood bakery‑cafe. The role requires a dynamic leader who will build a culture of Warmth, Belonging, Growth, and Trust, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and manage all aspects of cafe operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and nurture the culture of Warmth, Belonging, Growth, and Trust.
• Act as an ambassador for Panera’s Guiding Values and Behaviors.
• Own all aspects of leading, managing, and developing the team.
• Plan and manage staffing needs, shift scheduling, and people development.
• Lead ongoing training, coaching, and creative problem‑solving.
• Hire, train, and retain new team members.
• Manage team performance to meet cafe goals and quality standards.
• Develop subject‑matter experts within the cafe.
• Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements.
• Ensure consistent delivery of high‑quality operations and service.
• Maintain and continually improve operational standards.
• Motivate the team to meet and exceed cafe goals.
• Adhere to cafe systems, processes, policies, and regulations.
• Ensure food safety and a healthy, safe workplace.
• Grow sales, maximize profitability, and manage associate labor.
• Maintain cafe costs and inventory.

Qualifications

• Three years management experience (preferred).
• Proven ability to direct, motivate, coach, and develop others in a fast‑paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to drive positive results and run great shifts.
• Understanding of the business and ServSafe certification.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for working with people.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Commitment to health and food safety.
