Our client is a world class global manufacturer of medical tubing systems, specializing in the production of heated tubes for continuous positive airway pressure (“CPAP”). Following a successful acquisition and partnership in 2025, the California facility will be an important hub for the development of tubing systems and extrusion lines for the combined entity.

The General Manager (PSB) & Vice President of Operations Americas is responsible for leading and scaling the company’s US and Mexico business operations while driving operational excellence across all functions. This executive role combines strategic leadership, commercial collaboration, and operational execution to ensure profitable growth, organizational efficiency, customer satisfaction, quality performance, and alignment with global company objectives.

The role oversees day-to-day US and Mexico operations, financial performance, supply chain/logistics, operational processes, team leadership, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the business strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Identify operational improvement opportunities and implement scalable solutions.
  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team contributing to global strategy.

Operational Management

  • Oversee all operational functions including supply chain, logistics, customer service, production, warehousing, procurement, quality, maintenance and engineering.
  • Establish KPIs, operational dashboards, and performance management systems.
  • Optimize operational efficiency, cost control, quality standards, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all U.S. and Mexican federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Own P&L responsibility for the business.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance against targets.
  • Drive margin improvement and cost-efficiency programs.
  • Has close collaboration with the CFO and HQ finance team
  • Support sales growth through operational alignment and customer-focused execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams on growth initiatives.
  • Has close collaboration with the CCO for the business.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operational and management teams.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement in line with Smooth-Bor’s culture.
  • Drive organizational development, succession planning, and talent acquisition.
  • Foster cross-functional communication and alignment.

Process Improvement & Scaling

  • Implement best practices in operational excellence and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, including PMS and 5S.
  • Lead transformation and automation initiatives where appropriate.
  • Support integration efforts related to acquisitions, new facilities, or expansion projects.
  • Standardize processes and reporting structures across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience in operations, general management, or executive management roles in manufacturing companies.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience.
  • Demonstrated success scaling operations and driving organizational growth.
  • Experience in manufacturing of highly regulated industry, preferably in plastics and medical device manufacturing.

  • Reports to: Global COO
  • Direct Reports: Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Customer Service, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance, etc.
