Summary
The Certified General Manager performs all duties of the Assistant Managers with the addition of full accountability for the operation of the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Manages a staff of approximately 3 to 50 employees, overseeing scheduling and labor totaling over 50 hours per week.
- Assigns, monitors, and evaluates work performance, including promotion, transfer, or termination decisions.
- Provides on‑the‑job training for new and existing employees.
- Delegates and is responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing all food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies to minimize loss from waste or theft.
- Supervises the preparation, sales, and service of food.
- Forecasts food items and estimates consumption per shift to avoid shortages and ensure success.
- Ensures that every customer receives world‑class customer service.
- Routes deliveries and serves drivers to maximize delivery business and speed within the restaurant.
- Completes and oversees daily food preparation (opening procedures, meat and vegetable slicing, bread production).
- Completes and oversees closing procedures.
- Implements systems and procedures with 100% integrity and completeness.
- Completes daily and weekly paperwork.
- Is responsible for 100% of the cash drawers during the shift.
- Receives and stores product.
- Audits previous shift’s systems and procedures for 100% integrity and completeness.
- Completes preventive maintenance and upkeep on store equipment and supplies.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Supervises the entire management team, including weekly manager meetings.
- Identifies talent and develops team members for management positions.
- Administers performance reviews of the management team.
- Manages the Profit and Loss statement, identifying issues to reach and exceed goals.
- Actively promotes a positive, productive work environment and removes threats to culture to increase retention.
- Responsible for the entire hiring process, including accepting applications, reviewing applications, following up, scheduling interviews, conducting interviews, and making offers.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency in all tasks.
Skills & Abilities
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older and able to work 40+ hour weeks.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to handle fast‑paced and high‑stress situations in the store.
- Organizes and establishes priorities with minimal supervision.
- Provides feedback and recommendations on store and employee performance.
Requirements
- Willing to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as business dictates.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle and resolve customer threats and issues.
- Ability to handle and resolve employee issues.
- Ability to handle stress and a high‑volume enterprise.
- Completion of R2R Training, Restaurant Safety Training Program, Shift Manager FT Training, Assistant Manager Training, Food Safety FT Training, General Manager Training, and Corporate Certification.
