The Lunchroom is seeking an experienced, energetic and highly motivated General Manager to oversee the overall performance and day-to-day operations of both of our cafe locations.
Eight years ago, The Lunchroom, a 40-seat breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch restaurant with an all-day café opened in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. Last August a second location opened at the historic redevelopment of Plaza del Lago in Wilmette. The Lunchroom is winner of “OpenTable Diner’s Choice’, Chicago Magazine’s ‘Hot List’, and Modern Luxury ‘Brunch Buzz.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for ensuring that both cafes (Gold Coast and Wilmette) operate at the highest level while delivering an exceptional and consistent guest experience. The GM will drive revenue and profitability, lead and develop the management teams, establish and maintain operational standards and ensure that the culture and service expectations of the business are consistently reflected across both locations.
The ideal candidate is a strong business person and people leader who is equally comfortable on the floor, , analyzing the business, working with a team and identifying opportunities to improve performance. This person must have the experience, confidence and leadership skills to hold managers and team members accountable while creating an environment where people are motivated to perform at their best.
