General Manager - Builder Services

MMC Land Management is a leading commercial land management company serving home builder clients throughout Western Pennsylvania. The Builder Services Division partners with home builders and developers to deliver erosion control and related services, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and to the highest standards. As the company continues to grow, MMC is seeking a General Manager to lead the Builder Services Division. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving performance, developing teams, and ensuring exceptional service delivery for builder clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Builder Services Division, overseeing daily operations and ensuring achievement of performance and profitability targets
• Manage and develop a team of Operations Managers, Account Managers, and field crews
• Own the division’s annual budget, P&L, and performance reporting to company ownership
• Set priorities, goals, and accountability standards for division leaders
• Collaborate with the Business Development Manager on growth strategy, pricing, and capacity planning
• Oversee scheduling, crew deployment, and production across all builder communities
• Ensure all work meets builder specifications, schedules, and quality standards
• Efficiently manage equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources
• Drive job costing, estimating accuracy, and margin improvement initiatives
• Serve as the senior point of contact for key builder accounts, resolving escalated issues and monitoring client satisfaction
• Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts
• Champion safety by ensuring adherence to company safety programs and OSHA requirements
• Support HR functions including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and retention within the division
• Foster a team culture built on accountability, respect, and high-quality work

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in landscape, construction, or site services operations
• 3+ years managing managers or multiple crews
• Proven experience with P&L or budget responsibility
• Strong understanding of job costing, scheduling, and production management
• Excellent communication skills with clients, field teams, and leadership
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling/operations software (e.g., Aspire)
• Preferred: Experience working with home builders or in residential new construction
• Preferred: Degree in business, horticulture, construction management, or related field

Working Conditions

• Regular travel to job sites across the service area, with exposure to outdoor conditions
• Peak season may require extended hours
