Managing Partner (MP)

Job Title: Managing Partner 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Managing Partner to lead the daily operations of The Snail. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, building and developing a high-performing team, driving financial performance, and maintaining the standards that define our restaurant.

The ideal candidate leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and treats the business with an ownership mentality. As a key member of the leadership team, the MP will collaborate closely with the kitchen leadership to ensure seamless operations, profitability, and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop all front-of-house staff, including managers, servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, coach, and retain top hospitality talent.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented workplace culture.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure every guest receives exceptional hospitality and personalized service.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and professionalism throughout the restaurant.
  • Build relationships with regular guests and cultivate community engagement.

Operations Management

  • Oversee all front-of-house operations during service.
  • Develop and manage employee schedules to align with business needs and labor goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Maintain restaurant appearance, organization, and operational readiness.
  • Run daily preshift, update website, run weekly payroll, onboard and terminate employees.

Financial Performance

  • Manage labor costs, operating expenses, and front-of-house budgets.
  • Monitor daily sales, guest counts, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.
  • Control inventory for beverage, supplies, and front-of-house operating materials.

Business Development

  • Support local marketing initiatives and community partnerships.
  • Collaborate on promotions, events, and seasonal programming.
  • Analyze guest feedback and implement continuous improvements.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance profitability and operational efficiency.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen leadership to ensure smooth communication and service execution.
  • Participate in menu development, pricing discussions, and strategic planning.
  • Maintain consistent communication between front- and back-of-house teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of restaurant management experience, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labor management, food and beverage cost, and P&L statements.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing an independent or chef-driven restaurant.
  • Wine, beer, or spirits knowledge and certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with private events, catering, or community engagement.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary - $90,000
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities - 5% of profit paid quarterly based on reviews, Labor and COGS management
