Transportation Operations Manager
The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for managing the services and personnel for the local transportation hub, coordinating, and scheduling a fleet of drivers according to airline schedules in compliance with company and safety rules to maximize equipment utility, customer experience and operational profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manage operational activities and personnel assigned to transportation services dispatched from the transportation station.
- Prioritize and ensure transit route and service commitments are met.
- Supervise, evaluate and oversee recruiting and training of transportation station staff.
- Investigate, document and submit reports on the station’s vehicle accidents and all necessary maintenance.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining budgetary financial reports.
- Conduct on-site inspections of all vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Schedule all station drivers and regularly update based on demand and availability.
- Attend all scheduled manager meetings.
- Oversee, complete, and follow up on all disciplinary actions needed at the local station.
- Work closely with dispatch to avoid and resolve any service issues.
Qualifications
- Five years experience in transportation with managing experience in transportation as a service desired.
- Experience supervising transportation staff members.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local rules and regulations applicable to transportation.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Must have a current, valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Will be required to obtain driving permits as required by airport authorities.
- Experience driving a shuttle, bus, passenger van or vehicle for hire is preferred.
- Must be able to lift to 75 lbs. by self, up to 20 times a day.
- Must have dexterous use of both hands and legs and be able to work outdoors in heat and cold.
- Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
