Job Overview

Assistant Manager – responsible for overseeing shift operations, cost controls, inventory, cash handling, customer relations, staffing, scheduling, marketing, and maintaining standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage all cost controls, inventory control, cash control, and customer relations.
• Set example and enforce policies 100% of the time, expect the same from crew.
• Staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, image and standards adherence, customer service, attendance & punctuality, transportation, store cleanliness, marketing, profitability.
• Operate all equipment.
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler.
• Prepare product.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility daily.

Training and Communication

Orientation and training provided on the job.

• Comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders over the phone and in person.

Essential Functions & Skills

• Accurate arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination for rapid precise movements.
• Enter orders using computer or touch screen.
• Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within delivery area.
• Navigate adverse terrain and deliver while carrying product.

Work Conditions

• Varying weather conditions for outdoor tasks.
• In‑store temperatures from 36°F to 90°F+.
• Sudden temperature changes.
• Fumes from food, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces up to 500°F, sharp edges, moving parts.

Physical Requirements

• Standing in standing positions on ceramic tile/linoleum.
• Walking between store and vehicle.
• Lifting bulk deliveries up to 50 lbs, stacking up to 72”.
• Carrying: large cans 3.5 lbs, pizza sauce 30 lbs, trays of dough ~12 lbs.
• Pushing/dollies up to 7.5 lbs force.
• Climbing stairs or ladders as needed.
• Stooping/bending at pizza assembly station; repeated 30‑45 sec intervals.
• Crouching/squatting occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
• Reaching up to 72”, forward, downward, and lateral motions.
• Driving deliver pizzas and flyers within delivery area; valid driver license with clean record; insured vehicle required.
