General Maintenance TechTigerville Campus - Tigerville, SC 29688OverviewPosition Type Full Time Staff Education Level High School Travel Percentage NegligibleDescriptionPosition Summary: The Maintenance Tech I is versatile in several areas and executes many tasks in a day under the supervision of either the Director of Construction and Special Projects or the Senior Director of Maintenance. Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to, power washing, garbage pickup, assisting with the setup of special events, aiding other specialized technicians in tasks, and moving material from place to place.RESPONSIBILITIES:Prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests and complete any and all reactive maintenance work and proceduresAid other specialized higher skilled technicians with tasks as neededMove materials to proper locations when directedPower washing and cleaning of buildings and facilitiesCarry out seasonal work by removing snow and ice on sidewalks to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environmentMove furniture to/from classrooms or officesAssist with the preparation, setup and cleanup of Special Events on CampusDaily tasks are not limited to the above, as technician may be asked to perform various tasks based on need and demand by Director and/or VPPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 poundsFrequent and long periods of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and reachingWorks inside and outside in varying weather conditions, including exposure to extreme temperaturesWORKING RELATIONSHIPS:This position is a full-time position in Campus Enhancement Services. The Maintenance Tech I reports to either the Director of Construction and Special Projects or the Senior Director of Maintenance.

Particular designation is assigned at hire.WORK SCHEDULE:8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Hours of work and task assignments may vary dependent upon situational factors, crisis management, and/or weather-related factors, and may require night(s), weekend(s) and holiday(s) response.QualificationsAffirm an understanding of, and willingness not to advocate contrary to, the Baptist Faith & Message 2000Affirm understanding of, and willingness not to advocate contrary to, the University's Statement on Human FlourishingActive in a biblically faithful, evangelical church, preferably one affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.Agree to abide by the employee handbooks, including community standards agreements.Have a High School Diploma or its equivalentClean driving record and exceptional driving and maneuvering skillsAbility to organize, prioritize and problem solve with frequent interruptionsExhibit good mechanical skills to handle equipment to avoid causing injuries to self and/or othersHave the ability to evaluate computer-related work orders and complete them timely and accurately
