General Internist / Clinician-Educator

The Department of Medicine, General Medicine Division is seeking a full-time, board certified or board eligible internist to join our Strong Internal Medicine practice. The successful candidate will care for their own panel of patients, precept residents in the continuity clinic, and engage in academic career development. This rewarding ambulatory opportunity features a defined schedule, shared call duties, and a faculty appointment at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

• Strong Internal Medicine practice
• Outpatient only: fully ambulatory position with no inpatient service
• Offers both in-person and telehealth visits
• Faculty practice and resident continuity clinic
• Strong Memorial Hospital

Responsibilities

• Care for their own panel of patients
• Precept residents in the continuity clinic

Compensation

• $179,550 - $274,553 a year
• Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time
• A defined week: Effort is organized in ten half-day sessions per week: four sessions caring for your own panel in the faculty practice, three sessions precepting residents in the resident continuity clinic, and three protected sessions for administrative and scholarly work
• Shared, well-supported patient calls: Calls are shared among all division faculty
• On weekends, RN triage handles patient calls before anything reaches the physician

Qualifications

• M.D. Degree or equivalent
• Must obtain a New York State Medical License prior to start date
• Eligible for a Faculty Appointment at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry
• Must meet all credentialing requirements
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Post offer Drug Screen and Health Assessment required
• Compliance with University and New York State Health Requirements
