General Education Teaching Assistant
The Dobbs Ferry School District seeks a general education teaching assistant at Springhurst Elementary School, effective August 31, 2026. This is a full-time, probationary, tenure-track position. Minimum requirement: NYSED level I teaching assistant certification. Salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with the CSEA clerical, teacher aide/teaching assistant contract.
As per NYSED teaching assistants provide instructional services to students under general supervision of a certified teacher. The successful candidate will lead or assist in various activities, aid in the development of educational material, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; is regularly required to climb, squat, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl; to reach above the head and reach forward; is regularly required to use hands and fingers to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls, and to talk and hear; is occasionally required to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.
