Job Description

Our client, a leading community healthcare organization dedicated to serving underserved populations, is hiring a General Dentist. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a community‑focused setting while working with a supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive general dentistry including examinations, diagnostics, preventive care, restorations, extractions, root canals, and other essential procedures.
  • Manage a diverse patient population across all ages with a focus on delivering quality clinical services efficiently.
  • Collaborate with dental hygienists and assistants to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all clinical procedures and patient records.
  • Uphold infection control and safety standards in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in patient education to promote oral health and preventive practices.
  • Support community outreach and educational activities as appropriate.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Valid license to practice dentistry in New York State, with licensure secured prior to start date.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general dental procedures such as restorations, extractions, and root canals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to providing patient‑centered care in an underserved community setting.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply provided licensure requirements are met within the credentialing timeline (~3–4 weeks).
  • Prior experience in community or public health dentistry is advantageous but not mandatory.

Nice To Have Skills

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency, particularly Spanish.
  • Additional certifications in advanced procedures or specialties.
  • Prior experience working in community health or public health settings.
