Role Description

This position is a PRN, 1-2 times per month, on-site role based near Cincinnati, OH, providing comprehensive dental care to an incarcerated patient population. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing examinations, diagnosing oral conditions, developing treatment plans, and delivering preventive, restorative, and basic surgical procedures. The dentist will educate patients on oral health, hygiene, and treatment options, ensuring clear communication and informed decision-making. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical records, collaborating with dental assistants and hygienists, adhering to infection control and safety protocols, and supporting Kare Mobile’s mission to expand access to equitable oral care. The role involves active participation in quality improvement efforts and consistent alignment with company clinical standards.

Qualifications

  • Clinical dentistry skills, including oral examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and provision of preventive and restorative care.
  • Proficiency in common procedures such as fillings, extractions, scaling and root planing, crowns, and emergency dental care.
  • Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain treatment options, obtain informed consent, and provide clear oral health education.
  • Commitment to infection control, OSHA and HIPAA compliance, and high standards of clinical quality and safety.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with dental assistants, hygienists, and administrative staff in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited institution.
  • Active Ohio dental license (or eligibility to obtain), with good standing and appropriate malpractice coverage.
  • Experience or strong interest in serving underserved communities and supporting mobile or innovative care delivery models.
  • Preferred: experience with digital dental records, teledentistry platforms, or technology-driven care models.
