Travel to Finger Lakes Center inLANSING, NY 14882, approximatelytwo times per week.
Shift: 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Shift: 8am-4pm, 2 days per week - part time
The incumbent will provide professional dental care for youth by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth and gums. The Dentist will perform a full-range of dental duties in connection with the treatment of dental diseases or dental health problems requiring corrective restorative or preventive measures as required by agency policy and procedures.
- Conduct examinations of individuals teeth and surrounding oral structures utilizing x-rays, mouth mirrors and other diagnostic procedures and instruments to determine pathological or irregular conditions.
- Treat dental diseases, injuries and malfunctions of teeth and gums.
- Perform restoration of simple and compound cavities.
- Administer anesthetics.
- Perform oral surgery commensurate with professional qualifications.
- Perform extractions of teeth.
- Clean teeth by scaling calculus.
- Treat teeth, mouth and gum infections with appropriate drugs or by surgery.
- Maintain written records of individuals dental treatments.
- Advise individuals about dental health practices.
- Instruct and direct paraprofessional dental staff in the performance of auxiliary duties.
Salary commensurate with scope of work job experience
Proper footwear required to perform tasks in a safe manner.
Perform other reasonably related duties as required.
