Responsibilities
- Provide overnight in-house cardiology coverage
- Manage Cardiac ICU admissions and ongoing patient care
- Evaluate and treat acute cardiovascular emergencies including STEMI, unstable ventricular tachycardia (VT), ventricular fibrillation (VF), and cardiogenic shock
- Interpret ECGs and echocardiograms
- Collaborate with Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, and Heart Failure teams who are available for at-home backup support
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system
Shift & Schedule
- Weekend Coverage Preferred: Friday through Sunday nights
- Flexible scheduling and additional availability will be considered
- Friday Night: Approximately 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Start time may be delayed up to 8:00 PM for commuting needs
- Saturday Night: 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Sunday Night: 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Requirements
- MD or DO required
- Board Certified in Cardiology
- Active North Carolina medical license required
- Active DEA required
- Strong ECG interpretation skills required
- Strong echocardiography reading skills required
- Experience managing critically ill cardiac patients and ICU admissions required
