Sanford Health, one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the U.S., is seeking a BE/BC General Cardiologist to join its Cardiovascular Institute. This role involves a full scope of general cardiology responsibilities, including inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostic testing, and outreach. Practice Info
- Join Sanford Cardiovascular Institute's team of five general cardiologists, one cardiac electrophysiologist, three interventional cardiologists, three cardiothoracic vascular surgeons, and 22 APPs.
- The position encompasses the full scope of General Cardiology responsibilities.
- The practice includes an ACGME accredited Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship programs.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide treatment or consultative services for adult patients presenting with diseases of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.
- Perform inpatient rounding.
- Conduct outpatient appointments.
- Participate in a robust outreach program.
- Read Cardiology diagnostic testing.

Shift & Schedule
- Clinic hours are from 8:00am-5pm, Mon-Fri.
- This position does require call, 1:9.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- BE/BC in General Cardiology.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program and completion of a fellowship in Cardiology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
- Demonstrate active involvement of 100 cardiology procedures.
- For Level 2 and 3 Cardiologists (Invasive or Interventional Cardiologist), must include 50 cardiac catheterizations as primary operator during the past two years with satisfactory quality data (if applicable to practice).
