Sanford Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified General Cardiologist to join its established Cardiovascular Institute. This role involves comprehensive cardiology responsibilities, including inpatient rounding, outpatient appointments, and diagnostic testing. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of experienced cardiologists and advanced practice providers, benefiting from strong mentorship and involvement in robust fellowship programs.

- Join Sanford Cardiovascular Institute, which includes five general cardiologists, one advanced imager, two cardiac electrophysiologists, three interventional cardiologists, three cardiothoracic vascular surgeons, and 22 APPs.
- The team offers strong mentorship and collaboration.
- The institute has comprehensive fellowship programs, including accredited General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship programs.
- There are currently 9 General Fellows and 1 Interventional Cardiology Fellow, with 1 Fellow in-house at night, 7 days a week, taking first call for attending cardiologists.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide treatment or consultative services for adult patients presenting with diseases of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.
- Conduct inpatient rounding.
- Manage outpatient appointments.
- Participate in a robust outreach program.
- Read Cardiology diagnostic testing.

Shift & Schedule
- Clinic hours are from 8:00am-5pm, Mon-Fri.
- Position requires call, 1:6.
Requirements
- BE/BC General Cardiologist.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program.
- Completion of a fellowship in Cardiology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
- Certification by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
- Demonstrate active involvement of 100 cardiology procedures (for applicants not directly out of fellowship or if quality profile is unavailable).
- For Level 2 and 3 Cardiologists (Invasive or Interventional Cardiologist), include 50 cardiac catheterizations as primary operator during the past two years with satisfactory quality data (if applicable to practice).
