Sanford Health is seeking board-certified MDAs to join their Department of Anesthesia in Fargo, ND. This role offers the opportunity to work within a large, growing not-for-profit health system, providing anesthesia for a high volume of cases across various specialties. The position is ideal for generalists and those with fellowship training in Peds, Neuro, or Ortho, contributing to a collaborative care team model.
Practice Info
- Department of Anesthesia includes 24 anesthesiologists and 80+ CRNAs
- Provides anesthesia for approximately 28,000 cases per year at three hospitals
- All specialties are represented, including acute pain service
- Anesthesia care team model is used for nearly all cases
- Region's only Level I Trauma Center + Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Academic appointment available through UND School of Medicine

- Performing history and physical examinations
- Comprehensive management of patients of all ages rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgical and obstetrical procedures

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency/fellowship of at least 3-4 years' duration in Anesthesia accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency
- Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
- H-1B visa sponsorship available
- Experience can be demonstrated by fellowship log (for recent fellowship graduates)
- Experience can be demonstrated by a quality profile from hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications (for applicants not directly out of residency)
- Must be able to demonstrate active involvement in at least 200 Anesthesia cases in the last 24 months
