- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, work-in-progress schedules and adjusting entries, job-cost reports, budget-to-actual analyses, and management reports.
- Administer weekly payroll, prevailing-wage and certified-payroll requirements, payroll taxes, garnishments, unemployment paperwork, timecard audits, W-2s, and 1099s.
- Develop the annual operating budget, periodic forecasts, year-end projections, and financial models that support growth, efficiency, and profitability.
- Prepare year-end records for the outside tax accountant and provide required financial information to bankers, bonding agents, and insurance providers.
- Support risk and compliance activities, including insurance renewals, business licenses, annual tax assessments, and state corporate registrations.
- Prepare project-closeout financial analyses comparing final results with the original estimate, including profit, over/under budget performance, and lessons learned.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP; construction accounting and work-in-progress experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with job costing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial-statement preparation.
- Ability to organize competing priorities, meet recurring deadlines, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
- Possess proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, along with solid data entry and document management skills.
- Intermediate or better skills within the Microsoft suite of software products
- Sage 100, Sage Construction Management, and/or Procore experience is a plus; training is available for the right candidate.
