General AccountantThe objective of the General Accountant prepares balance sheets and other financial reports. They are responsible for analyzing the latest trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitment incurred to predict future revenues. They usually handle organization finance and management and provide recommendations about various resource applications.Essential Job DutiesProduce asset, liability and capital account entries and assess account informationPrepare financial transaction by entering dataRecommending financial action by analyzing accounting optionsSupport financial transactions by auditing documentsRegular accounting process of journal entries with monthly closure accountsArranging all company financial programs and secure compliance to the budgetary requirementMonitor all financial transactionsControlling departments in accounting reconciliation process monthlyReviewing all banking transactions and overseeing data assessing proceduresServe as university representative at any audits relating to reconciliation transactions facilitated by a government agencyMaintaining internal expenses in the company secureDesigning and managing audit schedules for external audit processerDevelop budgetary plans for processing as per requirementPreparing daily cash reportAssisting in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAPPost daily journal entries based on daily accounting activityPrepare monthly reconciliationReconcile credit card and ACH paymentsAssist in handling financial records by maintaining compliance with company policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.Omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
