EPIC SRE EngineerOur client Top Fortune Client are embarking on a massive undertaking to implement and deploy a new Electronic Medical Records system called EPIC, use it in 4 new clinics and eventually migrate all existing clinics across the USA scaling to over 250 clinics in the next 4-5 years. In order to be successful in that endeavor they need to not only deploy EPIC in Azure, but also provide the integration for EPIC with various multiple internal systems like 3rd party vendor-provided medical hardware, EMPI, phone system, etc.In order to support this explosive growth we are looking for SRE engineer who has implemented SRE practices for services and applications deployed in production to the cloud (Azure and GCP). Must understand SRE concepts well, including SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, Error Budget, Toil, Capacity Planning, monitoring/observability, release engineering, and incident management.
This is both hands on and advisory role, so good communication and facilitation skills are required.The infrastructure is largely built on Microsoft. The environment has a hybrid configuration with on premise servers and cloud based servers using Microsoft Azure with many additional technologies and middleware. This will initially support 4 clinics and the development environment in the cloud.
The team uses a mix of Windows, and some Linux for our systems management platforms and cutting edge network equipment.You'll be responsible for the design and deployment procedures of our Customers Health & Wellness clinics in collaboration with the larger DevOps, SRE and Security teams.The SRE engineer’s will be key members of the innovative SRE team to help build, educate the development and management teams on SRE thinking, establish the best practices and help open the new clinics on time. Our client will use Microsoft Azure as primary cloud delivery platform, you will be required to establish the needed infrastructure (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, monitoring, alerting, etc.) and to ensure stability of our services, which will now be depended on by the clinical patients.This team will be responsible for ensuring high availability and low latency for the multitude of HTTP requests/events we receive every day. Environment management tools like Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform etc.While in the midst of defining the roadmap, among other things, you would be expected to:Automate everything!
Especially in Azure- Build Platform Tools and DashboardsBe proficient with Splunk, building dashboards (Grafana and/or Prometheus)Knowledge of Azure - dealing with production issues related to hardware, resource constraints, being able to take corrective actions, understanding from operational perspective, understanding of telemetryCreate and execute forward looking technology roadmap (DCOS & Docker)Keep up with industry trends to ensure we are using the best tools and servicesOwn and improve our integration, deployment and monitoring storyWork closely with developers to solve systems problems.Collaborate with security team to deliver world class softwareUnderstanding of healthcare domain in general and specifically EPIC EMR: tools for observability (System Pulse)
