Overview

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Division of Gastroenterology, is seeking a full-time Gastroenterology Section Chief to join the practice team at Riverside University Health System. Applicants with experience in General GI are welcome to apply. The GI Section Chief will be responsible for leadership, management and administration of the GI Division at RUHS across the domains of endoscopy services, outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, teaching, and research. The Chief will work collaboratively with the Head of GI at Loma Linda University Health to accomplish the goals and mission of the University.

Responsibilities

A balance of clinical duties would include inpatient coverage with outpatient endoscopy and clinic. The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide leadership and administrative oversight of the GI Division at RUHS.
  • Engage in teaching fellows, residents, and students.
  • Support endoscopy services, outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, teaching, and research.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership, GI faculty at Loma Linda University Health, and clinical partners to advance patient care and education.

The site has GI Genius, Capsule Endoscopy, Manometry including Endo Flip, Smart Pill and BRAVO capabilities, including a fleet of Olympus 190s with EUS and ERCP scopes. Established capabilities for Interventional Gastroenterology include POEM, Endoscopic suturing, ESD, Spyglass, and Hybrid APC among others. Onsite research support is available for clinical and population-based research including randomized controlled trials. Dedicated anesthesia coverage is available.

The ideal candidate will be focused on serving the RUHS location with opportunities for leadership in academics or GI endoscopy operations for the right candidate with administrative skills. Compensation & Benefits

Compensation The base compensation range is $475,000 – $550,000. This amount does not include compensation for inpatient call weekdays/weekends, e-consults, and specialized clinics. Productivity bonuses beyond the base WRVU target are paid bi-annually. Additional compensation is available for candidates with leadership potential as described above. A tailored package can be developed during recruitment.
