Locums - Springfield, Oregon, Gastroenterology Opening

Start Date: 2/1/27 Expected Duration: 6 months Reason for Opening: Gap in coverage Coverage Needed: 1.0 FTE

Coverage & Setting:

• Inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology coverage
• Clinic and hospital privileges
• 390-bed hospital
• Adult patient population
• Approximately 15 patients per day
• 2 additional physicians in the department
• Rounding and admissions required
• No call required

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Typical schedule: 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• 8-hour days
• Schedule includes outpatient procedures, inpatient procedures, and clinic coverage

General GI Procedures:

• Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
• Capsule Endoscopy - ordering and reading/interpreting results
• Colonoscopy
• Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
• Esophageal Manometry - ordering and reading/interpreting results

Therapeutic Procedures:

• Polypectomy
• Biopsy
• Endoscopic hemostasis
• Stricture dilation
• Foreign body removal
• Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC)

Hospital & Advanced Procedures:

• Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) - placement and outpatient replacement
• ERCP - sampling, stent placement, stone extraction, and dilation
• Cholangioscopy
• Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) with interventions
• Bravo pH testing

Support & Systems:

• 2 additional physicians in the department
• EMR: Epic

Requirements:

• MD/DO
• BLS - Required through AHA or American Red Cross
• Advanced GI training - Required
• Candidates without an active Oregon license will be considered
