Gastroenterology Physician

Full-time Gastroenterologist Locums Job Norfolk, Virginia Area Starting December 1 + Ongoing through 2027

Jackson and Coker is partnered with a facility in the general Norfolk area that needs GI Hospitalist locums coverage starting in December 2026 & ongoing through June 2027. The facility is seeking 1-2 GIs to assist with weekend inpatient coverage + night/weekend call coverage. Are you available?

Coverage need:
Seeking candidates that can commit to a minimum of 1 week per month (consecutive Monday - Monday, 7-day stretch)
Seeking candidates who can start in December 2026 (please include specific availability)
Will be covering from 7A-5P in the hospital + night / weekend call coverage (call is 7A-7A)
Client will prioritize candidates who are willing to include 10 hours of work in their rate Monday - Friday
Will need between 3-4 GIs to fill a full-time schedule

Details for opportunity :
- Active + unrestricted VA licensed candidates are required
- Must be actively Board Certified and/or truly Board Eligible
- Bread & butter GI
- Strongly prefer candidates who can do ERCP (NOT a requirement)
- Can anticipate between 20-25 PPD (this # includes 8-10 admissions each day)
- Can anticipate an average of 4 procedures per day
- No APP support on staff at this time
- Average of 1-2 callbacks per day after hours
- Epic EMR, 250 bed facility, not a designated trauma center
