The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System has an opening for an energetic, driven, and compassionate physician to serve as a Gastroenterologist.

The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is actively recruiting to fill a Board-Certified Staff Gastroenterologist to help care for our Veterans - America's Heroes. The selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment within the Section of Gastroenterology at Loma Linda University and will be involved with education and teaching of fellows, medical students, residents, and other providers. This opportunity is at a state-of-the-art VA facility in Loma Linda. Loma Linda VAMC is among the VA Medical Centers in the Western US and has been improving the health of the men and women who have proudly served our nation in the Loma Linda community.

Position Details

• Responsibilities include completing patient history and physical examinations, diagnosis, therapeutic management, effectiveness in emergencies, patient management, consultation, and record keeping.
• Promote delivery of quality patient care based on current standards in the practice of gastroenterology; skilled in performing endoscopy.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including identifying patient needs and providing care to promote improvement.
• Educational responsibilities include teaching fellows, residents, and medical students in a hospital setting; monitoring and coordination of educational activities, planning, evaluating, and documenting.
• Research responsibilities (which may include quality improvement projects) include identifying and defining problems, planning and executing a research program, and generating reports; not required but of significant value to the section.
• Additional duties: Incumbent will perform inpatient consultations and endoscopy procedures.

Tour of duty: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, no on-call. Alternative work schedule may be available, including part-time appointments.
