Overview
A community-based teaching hospital in Southwest Georgia is seeking a dedicated Gastroenterologist to join its established medical team. The facility offers a collaborative environment with fellow gastroenterologists, general surgeons, and mid-level practitioners, and this full-time role provides a balanced mix of clinic and hospital responsibilities within a comprehensive GI practice.
What you'll do
- Provide general GI care, including performing ERCPs
- Work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, split evenly between outpatient clinic and inpatient endoscopy procedures
- See approximately 25 patients per day in clinic and manage 10 consults/15 procedures per day in the hospital
- Participate in on-call duties 7 days per month, shared with general surgeons and fellow gastroenterologists
- Perform diagnostic services such as Colonoscopy, Upper Endoscopy, Capsule Endoscopy, ERCP, and Bravo 48-Hour pH Monitor
- Treat conditions including GERD, Hepatitis B/C, Chronic Constipation, Liver Disease, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease
- Precept medical students and residents to support the facility's educational mission
Required qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology with ERCP skills required
- Completion or near completion of a gastroenterology fellowship
- Possess or be eligible for a Georgia Medical License or participate in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact
